Mentoring
Every major step forward in my life has been encouraged by the people that I’ve been fortunate enough to know. They check my beliefs when I'm wrong, they help me refine my ideas, and they help me through difficult times. I believe that great ideas are best shared in ongoing, personal relationships, so it’s important to me that I make myself available to others.
I’ve had so many great experiences in my life, and I’d love to share them if you’re considering pursuing a similar path.
- I'm an interaction designer who once published a book, going from nearly zero industry recognition, to fully crowdfunded, to sold out, to speaking at conferences, in about two years.
- I care deeply about the future of publishing and how we can use the internet to spread better ideas, and to spread those ideas better.
- I get far too interested in random topics, from craft beer to single-estate teas to the history of Dutch typography.
- I try to expose myself to a wide array of friends from all sorts of different backgrounds, so I can learn from different fields.
If you’d like to work together, write me a letter responding to the questions below; I’ll write back to all letters I receive in this way within two weeks, no matter what. In response to the most exceptional letters, I’ll propose further correspondence – and in certain cases, an ongoing mentoring relationship.
- Tell me about yourself. How did you become who you are, and who do you want to become?
- What do you hope to gain from our mentoring relationship?
- What’s the best thing you’ve read, watched, or listened to lately?
- What work have you done that you're proud of?
When ready, . I look forward to learning together!
